This sequence of images shows the most recent of 7 fiber-lined shuttle kilns designed and constructed by Kiltel
for Fireline, Inc. in Youngstown, OH. At the start of construction the kiln frame is being fabricated with integral
combustion air manifold (8" square tube around bottom).
Fiber modules (rated at 2,400F) being installed. The bench around the bottom will provide an overlapping sealing
surface for the kiln's load of 4 air-float cars; the round tube at lower left is an insertion guide.
Kiln roof module being lowered into place.
Interior view of the kiln, showing the fiber modules with overlapping Z-folds as well as the two roof vents.
The kiln exterior has been painted. Pulsed burners, 5 per side, are plumbed into the air manifold and piped for gas.

The completed shell is loaded for shipping. The kiln fits on a low-boy trailer and can be moved without special wide-load permitting.
